The farmhouse at De-Kruis has so many beautiful doors, windows and staircases to lead the eye from inside and out. Some take you to day beds, others to night viewing platforms and deep cool interiors.

 Simplicity to savour.  So many cool spots to retreat from the heat of the sun and contemplate the meaning of life.

My favourite space is the library near the shade of a welcoming big tree.

Karoo Sunsets ♡

What could be better than watching the sun set with an aperol spritz to hand?

Especially if you are in the Karoo and the heat haze of the lazy day is dying down.

 

 

 

 

   Golden hour and watching the mountains and scenery change from gold to a dusty pink is pure bliss.

 

 Even when there is too much moonshine to see many stars the sky is so much bigger than back in the city.

 

Fond memories of lazer pointing and UFO searching from a previous visit.

Love how each visit is comfortingly similar yet different each time.

De Kruis has to be the MOST glamorous farmhouse for a feast:

When the heart of this beautiful home is an Aga, and on the other side is a fabulous turquoise Smeg fridge then you know you have the perfect setting for a magnificent meal.

Better yet, you can ask their resident cook for some beautiful locally sourced farm dishes (Karoo lamb, sumptous pies, seasonal desserts).  That way you can relax with your coffe, or wine and just enjoy the country setting.
